Senior Workshops in Iris Place

Seniors are encouraged to experience kinesthetic empathy through dance. By this I mean, empathy through movement, touch and  partner dancing.

We will feel the joy of Latin music and dance by building connections with others and with the self (with our body, our sense of sight, sense of sound, sense of smell and sense of touch) while increasing cardiovascular health and improving posture, balance and co-ordination. Let's feel more independent! When we are dancing, we are in control of our body while staying socially involved. It can reduce the risk of anxiety, isolation and depression.

By being actively engaged in dance, we can feel joyfully present, democratically empowered, and physically fit via a creative and artistic outlet and new social opportunities
